Marse Visnevac was pursuing his bachelor’s degree in information technology when he heard about National Able Network’s IT Career Lab program. Marse was very eager to fulfill his career goals, and after attending an information session to learn more about the program, including all of the the Cisco and Microsoft certifications available, he decided to enroll.

While attending the courses, Marse continued his bachelor’s degree in addition to numerous extracurricular activities like being the president of the Computer Technology Club and the Cyber Defense Club among many more. By staying involved in clubs and study groups, Marse worked on building his network.

Upon completion of the courses at IT Career Lab, Marse passed the exams for and earned the following certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), and Microsoft Windows 10 certification. It just so happened that at the same time that Marse wrapped up his courses, IT Career Lab was hiring for a course instructor, so he applied. Marse’s passion and dedication to the IT industry was very apparent. He was hired!

Donna Claxton, Program Manager at IT Career Lab, consistently receives positive feedback from Mase’s students. She says, “Students from across all classes have praised Marse’s knowledge and dedication to them while in class and outside of class as they prepare for certification exams and career opportunities,” she continues, “Marse goes above and beyond the call of duty to tutor and mentor students, and has been known to meet students after class and on the weekend (on his own time!) to review questions, topics and other information before they take exams or meet with recruiters. He offers constant motivation and encouragement to all students from career changers to experienced IT professionals and continues to be a valuable member of our instructor team.”

Marse is now a Cisco Certified Instructor who continues to expand his knowledge with certifications in software, hardware, project management, and security – all while pursuing his Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity!

Congratulations, Marse!
