This June, we purchased the building at 1700 W. 18th Street in Chicago’s iconic Pilsen neighborhood. If you’ve ever walked through our doors, you know this isn’t just any building — it’s where job seekers find hope. It’s been our home since 2009, and now, it’s officially ours for good. This is the first real estate asset in our organization’s nearly 50-year history, and it marks a major milestone in our mission to empower job seekers and strengthen communities.
We’ve spent more than a decade here serving thousands of job seekers and businesses with everything from resume support and job training to digital literacy programs. Owning this space allows us to dream bigger — to keep innovating, growing, and creating opportunities.
“This acquisition is a permanent investment in advancing our mission,” says Matt Weis, President and CEO, “Owning this facility means we can innovate, expand, and continue to empower job seekers for generations to come.”
Located in the heart of Pilsen — a neighborhood rich in culture, history, and community spirit — our building is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a hub of opportunity and connections. On any given day, you’ll find folks accessing computers and printers, meeting with career coaches, or attending workshops. We proudly share our space with incredible partners like the Illinois Department of Employment Security and Youth Job Center, creating a one-stop shop for workforce services that transform lives.
To everyone who has supported us on this journey — thank you. We’re proud to call Pilsen home, and we’re here to stay. Come visit us – and see what’s possible!
