In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), National Able Network celebrates the positive impact of people with disabilities in our workforce and throughout our communities across the United States. This year is NDEAM’s 80th anniversary, and the U.S. Department of Labor selected “Celebrating Value and Talent” as the theme. NDEAM serves as a powerful reminder that inclusion is key when building stronger, more resilient workplaces.

From the passage of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the disability rights movement has transformed the landscape of employment. These milestones ensured that opportunity and dignity in work are rights afforded to all. Today, nearly 23 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities are contributing their talents across every industry — from healthcare and manufacturing to education and technology — enriching the workforce with adaptability and innovation.

As we pause to celebrate the value and talent of this community, we are taking this opportunity to share insightful resources from the Office of Disability Employment Policy, Job Accommodation Network, and the Employer Assistance and Resource Network. These resources range from how to successfully recruit workers with disabilities to how to create an accessible workplace – all of which are important year-round, but may not necessarily be top of mind. In honor of NDEAM, we invite you to learn and explore these wonderful resources:
