Did you know that today is the World Day of Social Justice? This observance, created by the United Nations, recognizes “that social development and social justice are indispensable for the achievement and maintenance of peace and security within and among nations.” In other words, advancing the principles of social justice helps everyone across society!

The U.N. emphasizes the role of employment as a driving force to attain social justice. Across the United States, job seekers face various social issues which cause barriers to employment. Each of these barriers comes with its own set of issues, but all of them can be overcome with the right resources.

Providing these resources and helping people overcome their barriers is an important part of advancing the principles of social justice. At National Able Network, we help individuals find careers that are fulfilling to them by opening pathways through education, work experience, and providing supportive services that lead to success. By providing job seekers with resources and educational opportunities, we’re helping remove the barriers to employment one by one. Many of the people who come through our doors accomplish their career goals once they are given the tools to succeed.

Although there is still a lot to be done, leveling the playing field is one of the most direct ways to live up to the principles the United Nations established for the World Day of Social Justice, and we are proud to be a part of the continuous quest for social justice across the country.
