September 13, 2018 Non-profit, Workforce 0

Zolona Jones worked at Mondelez International as a baker for nearly seven years before she was laid off. As a mother of two, she was concerned about finding a full-time job with the same level of income to support her family. After being laid off, Zolona’s goal was to continue her education and someday open her own business. She began researching options that would help her afford paying for school. Luckily, through assistance from National Able Network, Zolona became aware of the various benefits available to her through the Trade Adjustment Assistance program!
Zolona registered for courses at the Keller Graduate School of Management and began her path to enhancing her skills and starting her own business! She soon went on to earn her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing! In addition to tuition assistance through National Able Network, Zolona also received financial support for travel to and from classes. As a direct result of not being indebted with educational and travel expenses, Zolona was in an excellent position to start her new business!
During her time with National Able Network, Zolona worked with career coach, Patricia Enriquez, to fine-tune her job search skills and stay on top of her career goals. Zolona said, “It is companies like National Able Network that really make a huge difference in a person’s life. I am so very appreciative of this grand opportunity that was made available to me as I am now on the road to success!”
Recently, Zolona went on to open her own music production and promotions business! “Hats off to National Able Network for providing the support that I needed to transition into a new career and help my business grow,” said Zolona.
