Have an Interview? Prepare in a ‘Flash’!
January 11, 2017 Non-profit, Training, Workforce 0

It’s important to always be prepared when walking into a job interview! However, it’s nearly impossible to know exactly which questions you will be asked, and sometimes there aren’t any “right” answers to questions. Thankfully there are resources available that can get you ready for almost anything! Merely Googling “common interview questions” can get you a handful of comprehensive lists of sample questions and answers to practice from. (We really like this list!)
Now, this technique may bring you back to your childhood, but one of the best ways to prepare yourself to answer interview questions on the fly is… Flashcards! There is a myriad of great reasons to use flashcards, but here is our top three:
- Convenient. One of the main reasons flashcards work so well is that they are convenient for most people! They are portable, easy to flip through, and more fun to look at than just a sheet a paper. Why do you think they work so well with children?
- Effective. Everyone has a different way of learning new things; however, flashcards are almost universal in their effectiveness! Flashcards are great for memorizing facts, and they can help remember exactly what to say during your interview. The more concise you are with your answers the better!
- Customizable. Flashcards are pretty easy to make and customize! If you realize that you need to add or subtract interview questions from your deck of cards, you can do so within minutes! If you’re good at behavioral interview questions but need to practice industry-specific questions, you can customize your deck to reflect that!
