‘Tis the Season to Job Search: Joy to the Work!
December 28, 2016 Non-profit, Workforce 0

Conducting a job search can be challenging. One of the best ways to stay motivated throughout your job search is to be optimistic and have a positive outlook!
In honor of the holiday season, National Able Network is proud to present the three P’s to keeping a positive attitude and landing the career of your dreams just in time for the New Year!
Passion:
Throughout your job search, apply for positions and companies that you feel passionate about, and be sure to show that passion when you’re interviewing. Use your interview as an opportunity to show hiring managers how much you enjoy the company and how much you want to be there! Do your research about the company’s culture and the job responsibilities, and when you’re asked why you want to work for the company, be specific. (Pro-tip: If you’re not sure how to determine a company’s culture, check out their social media presence and their company vision statement. Both of these are great resources to get better insight into the company you’re interviewing with!)
Positivity:
Your job is out there somewhere. This, and other positive mantras, should be part of your job search routine. Instead of saying: “I’m looking for a new job,” instead say, “I’m looking forward to my next opportunity.” Having a positive disposition can help keep your spirits bright, and it draws others in!
Pay it Forward:
Finding your new career is a wonderful feeling. When you do accomplish your goals and land a job offer, follow the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you know a job seeker in need of guidance, offer to help, share your story of success and pass along your knowledge to those that need it the most, your fellow job seekers! You know better than most that the best gift you can receive this holiday season is an offer letter, so speak up about your experience.
