The next few weeks at National Able Network (Able) promise to be quite busy, as Operation Career Launch goes into high gear. From now until Veterans Day (November 11), Able is accepting donations to benefit Veterans Forward, the innovative program that helps veterans on their transition from military to civilian life.

Operation Career Launch will culminate in a very special event. On Friday, November 18, Operation Career Launch will host a networking fundraiser from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Chicago Cultural Center. Refreshments will be served, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with our amazing clients and staff. Local veterans, the experts on the Veterans Forward team, and National Able Network will discuss current military hiring trends and meet with prospective job seekers, while raising money to benefit Veterans Forward.

“This is the first major fundraising event Veterans Forward has held.  In addition to raising funds for the expansion of Veterans Forward, we are also launching Mission Forward, our gamified e-learning platform exclusively for veterans. I’m excited because finally, we’ll be able to reach veterans wherever they are and give them the tools they need to succeed on the job market. As a team of veterans serving veterans, we know what it’s like to be excited and anxious about our transition to civilian life. We want to make sure the service members who follow us are better prepared for their transition,” said National Able Network Chief Operating Officer and former United States Army Officer, Bridget Altenburg.

Through career coaching, training and professional connections, Veterans Forward helps unemployed veterans forge fulfilling career pathways. The program benefits 400 veterans annually, and for every dollar that is invested in our clients, $5.95 is put back into the local economy where they are employed!
