Delaware Office Takes Shape Just in Time for NEOWW!
September 19, 2016 Non-profit, Senior Services, Workforce 2

National Able Network’s (Able) Delaware office location is finally taking shape! From its humble beginnings of four tables and eight chairs, the office has expanded to a program manager, career coach and three Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) participants. “We are excited to have the opportunity to serve and grow our office,” said Chris Waters, program manager of the Delaware Office. “This will provide us with the opportunity to better serve our SCSEP participants, as well as add a level of professionalism to attract collaborations and partnerships.”
The new Delaware Able office is located in the Delaware Goodwill Center in New Castle County. Able plans to collaborate with Goodwill to provide trainings and share services to benefit both Goodwill clients and SCSEP participants. Over the coming months, the Delaware office will provide computer training for SCSEP participants. We will also partner with other local agencies for additional services, such as new host agencies, job search services and other workforce development programs.
This week, Able is observing National Employ Older Workers Week (NEOWW), an initiative to encourage businesses to employ job seekers over the age of 55. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, in 2015 alone there were 1.3 million Americans over the age 55 seeking work. To learn more about NEOWW and Able’s programs to employ older workers, visit our website, and check out testimonials and posts on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
