I am thrilled to announce that National Able Network has been selected as one of seven nonprofit organizations in the U.S. to receive funding as part of Walmart Foundation’s $100 million five-year commitment to help entry-level workers advance in their careers and achieve economic mobility.
With the support of the Walmart Foundation, National Able Network will address the growing skills gap and increase longer-term career prospects among workers in Indiana and Illinois by offering leading-edge occupational training and by fostering connections to sustainable careers in high-growth occupations in the retail, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
The career pathways we help place our clients on offer living wages and economic stability, and our business partners benefit from easy access to our talented job candidate pool. Tailor-made services that address the needs of both businesses and job seekers are what makes our program model so successful, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to apply our expertise to help fulfill the shared mission of our agency and that of the Walmart Foundation.
Our expanded career services will help those who need it most, including unemployed and underemployed workers, military veterans, mature job seekers, individuals who are entering the workforce for the first time, and the long-term unemployed.
Over five years, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation’s commitment will support programs that will develop industry-wide tools that map out career pathways and enhance demand-driven skills, training programs, and certifications.
