In the spirit of celebrating Older Americans Month, the training team at National Able Network will be facilitating workshops on basic money management for seniors.
The series of workshops is sponsored by the National Council on Aging and Bank of America Charitable Foundation and titled Savvy Saving Seniors®. The series consists of three workshops each designed to address specific money management needs of older adults.
The series will begin with Becoming Resource-FULL with the Help of Benefits and Peace of Mind Savings which is a 90 minute workshop focused on how to budget your money to stretch your income, identifying ways to save, how to set financial goals and where to find benefits to help pay your bills.
The next workshop, Steps to Avoiding Scams, identifies and describes the 10 most popular scams targeting seniors, offers 8 ways to protect yourself and tells you what to do if you have been scammed. The final workshop in the series is titled It’s in the Cards. This workshop provides tips and tricks for managing different types of money management cards, identifies fees to look for and scams to avoid, and explores some of the names and brands of prepaid cards on the market.
We expect that this workshops will provide great information for our older adults that will help them plan and protect their income and assets. Be sure to check back here for our outcomes and success stories!
