Dear Friend:

As president of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, I cordially invite you and your organization to be an exhibitor at the 18th Annual Operation Access to Employment for Persons with Disabilities, an employment and resource fair. We are pleased to state that this event was awarded the prestigious Henry M. Betts, MD Employment Advocacy Award in November 2007 by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

The event will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Oak Lawn Hotel, Cicero Avenue at 94th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois. Our cosponsors are National Able Network, Inc.; the Chicago Sun-Times; Star/Daily Southtown; and NBC 5 Chicago.  Since this fair is being offered through the Cook County President’s Office of Employment Training (POET), there is no charge to you for exhibition space.

This event provides you with opportunities

  • To meet and interview hundreds of qualified applicants who have disabilities
  • To network with job-placement agencies and job-training providers
  • To learn about technical assistance availabl e to your organization and
  • To familiarize job seekers with employer expectations on the job

Together, we can create and maintain working partnerships that provide employment opportunities that foster economic growth and expand the pool of diverse, qualified workers in Cook County. This fair provides an excellent opportunity to achieve these goals.

In order to reserve your exhibition space at the fair, please complete the enclosed form and return it no later than September 22. Since space is limited, your prompt return is essential. If you wish to register online, you may do so at www.nationalable.org/accessregister.htm.  If you have any questions, please call National Able Network at 312.782.3335.  We look forward to your participation in this worthwhile event and thank you for making Cook County a better place in which to live and work.

Sincerely,

Todd H. Stroger

President
