Collaborations
Able is extremely proud of the strong collaborative relationships it has cultivated with organizations that share similar missions. Throughout its history, Able has worked with a variety of community- and faith-based partners, government agencies, and businesses to create a cohesive and productive team to help support its commitment to true seamless service delivery.
Able's workforce development partners serve a broad range of diverse, targeted groups which help address individual barriers to employment. Some of them include:
Chicago Workforce Center - Pilsen
Able has the distinction of being the operator of Chicago's busiest workforce center, The Workforce Center in Pilsen, since 1996. Deep-rooted workforce- and community- partner relationships provide expertise and leveraged resources which enable staff to deliver comprehensive employment services to Chicago job seekers and area employers.
Business Hiring Incentive Program
Able's Business Liaisons have successfully secured employment opportunities for job seekers through the Business Hiring Incentive Program (BHIP), a city-wide initiative to increase employment opportunities for hard-to-serve populations.
Operation Access to Employment for People with Disabilities
Each year, an Able-led steering committee composed of local businesses, Community-Based Organizations, and government agencies partner to host Operation Access to Employment for People With Disabilities, a disability employment and resource job fair for area employers and job seekers, sponsored by the Cook County President's Office of Employment Training.
Opportunity Chicago
Able serves as the hospitality industry specialist under Opportunity Chicago, a citywide workforce development initiative which engages employers, government, and non-profit community groups to help prepare public-housing residents to meet the needs of Chicago employers in various sectors.
