Career Counseling and Planning Services
  • Career exploration workshops designed to enable the evaluation of occupations and related training programs.
  • Access to government-funded training programs to assist qualified individuals with additional training to increase employability.
  • Assistance in the development of an Individualized Employment Plan to ensure that the job seeker is aware of the various support services available in training and employment.
  • Comprehensive and specialized assessments of skills, aptitudes, and abilities to promote job satisfaction
  • Daily orientations on workforce center services and job-search skills training delivered in several languages
  • Professional individual and group career counseling
  • Career transition services
  • Specialized career assistance for older workers and other target groups
Resume and Interviewing Workshops
  • Resume workshops where job seekers can build their own resumes and receive tips on how to present themselves to employers.
  • Individual and group sessions to strengthen and individual’s interview skills
  • Job clubs for registered job seekers in a structured and supportive atmosphere that provides opportunities to share experiences and job leads, all the while gaining ongoing peer support.
Basic and Vocational Skills Instruction
  • Specialized programs designed to help job seekers build their competency and comfort levels in working with computers
  • GED and Basic Skills Training to improve math, reading comprehension and problem solving.
  • Basic and vocational English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction.
  • Vocational training to help individuals enter, re-enter or advance in the workplace.
Re-Employment Services for Laid-off Workers
  • Informational sessions and activities to help job seekers prepare for new employment opportunities.

Full-Service Resource Centers
  • Fully-equipped resource centers that offer access to the Internet, telephones and fax machines, and printed and online career search information.
  • Career resource libraries that provide access to labor market and census data, and information on high wage and high demand careers
  • Staff-assisted computer labs offer access to online job boards for individuals with minimal computer knowledge and/or who have language barriers.
Job Placement Assistance
