Summer '06

National Able Network has laid out several ambitious goals for this year and is well on its way to accomplishing some exciting new things. We are also poised to realize a fourfold increase, in just four years, in overall agency programs and revenue. Healthy, stable growth has

allowed us to put new attention on refining our service delivery models and planning for longer-term quality improvement measures in all areas. This year, we will benchmark major areas of the agency and begin work on quality processes in human resources—including employee recruitment and retention, evaluations, professional development, compensation, and feedback systems. Our goal is to make steady progress in this area consistent with Malcolm Baldridge standards.

We have also refocused our national markets in the northeast area including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. While we will no longer operate out of Los Angeles, the higher program density in the northeast region positions National Able Network for broader development of employment and training services for our low-income seniors and other career-seeker populations. Our goal is to establish a long-term regional footprint that addresses the education and employment needs of the area’s employers and most needy residents. The expansion of Able Career Institute™ and our one-stop operations are

central to this plan.

Our board of directors is continuing to pursue its own strategic development with impressive results. New members have added substantially to the board’s leadership while embracing the heart of our mission through the examples of their predecessors. We expect great things from this outstanding team and the fine members of the National Able Network staff in the coming year!
