Friendly to customers and the environment. Able’s new Workforce Center replaces an overcrowded and deteriorated structure a few blocks away that is visited by five hundred people a day. Emerging at 1700 W. 18th Street (at Paulina), the fully rehabbed Center is designed to be welcoming and reflect the dignity with which Able clients are treated.
Convenient location. The new Able Workforce Center is at the heart of Pilsen on a main commercial corridor. An ‘L’ stop and bus line are steps away and local and national businesses line 18th Street, making for a busy and appealing location.
High level technology supports every Center function. Technology is fully integrated into Center programming, saving time for staff and clients and adding to productivity and transparency. The most modern display technology will enhance all training programs, and high-speed internet connections will make the client resource rooms appealing and useful.
The first Chicago-area Workforce Center managed by a nonprofit. With Able as the leaseholder, and public agencies such as the Illinois Department of Employment Security as sub-tenants, this creative arrangement makes for efficient coordination for staff and easy access for clients. This unique public/private partnership will meet the employment demands of both businesses and job seekers.
